Vittoria — Centro Storico Barocco

Unlike most Val di Noto towns rebuilt after the 1693 earthquake, Vittoria was founded from scratch in 1607 by Vittoria Colonna Henríquez as a deliberately planned settlement, its regular grid street plan distinct from the organic layouts of older Sicilian towns. The flat streets are easy and level throughout.
