The Via degli Dei ('Road of the Gods') follows ancient roads and mule tracks over the Apennines from Bologna to Florence, passing through mountain ridges named after gods — Monte Luario (Mercury), Monte Adone, Monte Venere. The route crosses the Etruscan-Roman road network and ends with a descent into the Arno valley.
