The Cavagrande del Cassibile near Noto is Sicily's deepest canyon — 200 m of carved limestone with natural pools and waterfalls on the Cassibile river. The natural pools are used for swimming — one of the most famous wild swimming sites in Sicily. Bonelli's eagle nests on the canyon rim. The approach from Avola is a 400 m descent; the return is the same climb. Dogs on leash near the pools.
