Velia — Greek Archaeological Park

Elea-Velia (6th-5th century BC) was a Greek colony on the Cilento coast where the Eleatic school of philosophy was founded by Parmenides — the philosopher who said 'being is, non-being is not.' The archaeological park is little visited and tranquil, with standing arches, walls and the Porta Rosa — one of Italy's oldest round arches (4th century BC).
