Vastogirardi — Tratturo Regio & Chiesa di San Nicola

Vastogirardi lies on one of the wide grassy tratturi that shepherds once drove sheep along between the Abruzzo mountains and Puglia's winter plains. The Romanesque church of San Nicola stands isolated on the drove road outside the village, and the turf track remains walkable for kilometres in either direction.
