Aosta Valley
Lago di Place Moulin is an artificial reservoir at 1,968 m at the head of Valpelline, damming the meltwater from the Grandes Murailles and Mont Gelé glaciers. The water is intensely green from glacial flour. The Grand Combin (4,314 m) closes the valley to the north. The dam road provides easy access and level walking.
