The Vallone di Loana above Acceglio in the Maira valley (Cuneo province) is one of the most remote tributary valleys in the Maritime Alps — a wild glen of old-growth Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) with ibex colony, chamois, golden eagle and wolf confirmed since 2017. The valley head gives views to the Provençal peaks of the Maritime Alps. Few visitors. Dogs off-leash.
