Vallon de Grauson, Cogne
Aosta Valley
The Vallon de Grauson branches east from Cogne into the heart of Gran Paradiso National Park. The valley sees almost no visitors despite being the park's best wildlife corridor — chamois, ibex, foxes and golden eagles are all regularly encountered. The upper cirque is glacially sculpted with a small tarn and snowfields lasting into August. No hut, no path markings above 2,200 m.
