The Vallo di Comino near Sora is a high karst basin valley at 730 m on the Lazio-Abruzzo border — historically isolated, preserving medieval villages unchanged. The valley floor is one of Italy's strongest Italian wolf territories — multiple packs. White stork nesting in the villages (rare in central Italy). The plateau above has Marsican bear (the only surviving bear population in central-western Europe). Dogs off-leash.
