Valli di Lanzo — Cascate di Balme
Piedmont
The Valli di Lanzo (Val Grande, Viù and Ala) are three parallel Alpine valleys 40 km north of Turin, little-known outside Piedmont. The highest valley reaches Balme village (1,424 m) below a granite cirque with several waterfalls. Ibex were reintroduced in 2020. The valley has excellent mushroom collecting in September and outstanding autumn colour in the larch above 1,500 m.
