The trulli — conical dry-stone houses with painted astrological symbols on their roofs — dot the Valle d'Itria landscape. Walking between Alberobello (UNESCO) and the villages of Locorotondo and Cisternino through century-old olive groves reveals a landscape unchanged for 500 years.
