Valle delle Sfingi & Covolo di Camposilvano, Lessinia
Veneto
On the high Lessinia near Velo Veronese, erosion has left a scatter of mushroom-shaped rock towers — the "sphinxes" — grazed around by cattle. A few steps away, a marked path drops into the Covolo di Camposilvano, a 70 m-deep roofless cavern with its own cold microclimate and rare ferns, a geosite of the UNESCO Global Geopark.
