The Valle del Calore below Castelcivita is a wild river valley in the Cilento National Park with crystal-clear pools for swimming. Ancient water mills (frantoi) stand along the river bank. The valley is almost completely without tourists — locals drive past without stopping. Otters were confirmed in this section of the Calore in 2018. The walk passes through old almond orchards and oak groves.
