Valle del But — Cascate di Pissandolo
Friuli-Venezia Giulia
The Valle del But above Paluzza in Carnia has a series of small but beautiful waterfalls on the But torrent. The access path passes through ancient beech and silver fir forest and old stone farmsteads (malghe) still used for summer cheesemaking. Carnia is one of the least-known mountain areas in Italy — genuine undiscovered walking country in the heart of northeastern Italy.
