Between Bagnoritan Civita and Lubriano the soft blue-grey clay has been sculpted into knife-edge "calanchi", gullies and hoodoos. Marked trails drop from Lubriano and the "Ponticello" into the valley floor and around the base of Civita's rock, best in the low light of morning.
