Val Serina is a side valley of the Val Seriana above Bergamo, almost completely depopulated but preserving old iron mine galleries and chestnut groves that once fuelled the Bergamasco economy. The Cascata di Pianezze is a two-stage waterfall in a limestone gorge at the valley head, visited only by locals.
