Val Malenco is one of the least-visited major valleys in the central Alps. From Chiesa in Valmalenco the path climbs to the car-free hamlet of Chiareggio surrounded by the Bernina and Disgrazia massifs. The loop passes glacial moraines and rare serpentinite outcrops.
