Val Ferret runs north from Courmayeur below the Grandes Jorasses and Aiguilles de Leschaux. The valley floor trail connects numerous glacial streams descending from Mont Blanc. Chamois herds graze the upper slopes; the high peaks produce constant rockfall audible from the valley. One of the most dramatic mountain valleys accessible on foot in the Alps.
