Val di Peio
Trentino-Alto Adige
At the head of the Val di Sole, this valley climbs steadily from the spa town of Pejo toward the glaciers of the Cevedale-Ortles group, one of the largest ice fields in the Italian Alps outside the main watershed. The trail passes through larch forest that turns brilliant gold in autumn before opening onto stark moraine below the ice.
