From Frontignano or Casali di Ussita a track climbs a wooded valley that opens into a stony amphitheatre ringed by the vertical faces of Monte Bove Sud and Cima Vallelunga, with chamois on the ledges and the Rifugio del Fargno on the ridge above. The 2016 earthquake's epicentre was close by.
