Val Trebbia — Bobbio Walk

Emilia-Romagna

Ernest Hemingway called the Val Trebbia 'the most beautiful valley in the world.' The town of Bobbio has a remarkable 11-arch Roman-medieval bridge and the monastery of St Columbanus (614 AD) — the Irish monk who walked here from Lake Como. River pools with clear water make summer walking here genuinely idyllic.
