This natural rock shelf extends out from the base of the Conero cliffs, staying mostly submerged at high tide but emerging as a long flat 'beam' (trave) of pale limestone when the tide drops. Snorkelers explore the tide pools and rocky crevices along its length, and the surrounding cliffs shelter nesting seabirds. The steep path down offers some of the most dramatic cliff-and-sea views on the whole Conero promontory.
