Tratturo Pescasseroli–Candela at Sepino

Molise

The "tratturi" were 100-metre-wide grass highways along which flocks moved between Abruzzo and Puglia for centuries. One of the greatest, the Pescasseroli–Candela, passes clean through the walls and paved main street of Roman Saepinum (Altilia), and can be followed on foot in either direction across the Tammaro hills.
