Where most of the Salento coast is sand, Torre Sant'Andrea is rock — wind- and sea-carved limestone cliffs enclosing a cove with two dramatic faraglioni (sea stacks) rising straight from the water. Swimming here means finding a rock ledge rather than a sandy strand, with the calmest, clearest water found in the gap between the stacks themselves.
