Valle Zavelea is a large brackish lagoon in the Comacchio system of the Po Delta Park — one of the finest sunset viewpoints in the delta. Greater flamingo roost at dusk in concentrations of 3,000–8,000 birds. Avocet, black-winged stilt and glossy ibis breed. The dyke walk gives 360° views over the flat delta landscape. On clear evenings the lights of Venice are visible 50 km north.
