The Timpa delle Murge is a spine of ophiolite — 150-million-year-old ocean-floor rock — standing out of the green Sarmento valley. A path from San Costantino Albanese, a village that still speaks Arbëresh (Albanian), climbs through oak and pine to the crest with loricate pines and a view across the whole Pollino.
