From the Colle San Carlo above Morgex a marked path leads in half an hour through larch and stone-pine wood to the Testa d'Arpy, a rocky knoll that suddenly opens onto the entire southern wall of Mont Blanc — the Aiguille Noire, the Brouillard and Freney pillars, the Miage glacier — across the deep Dora valley.
