Tarquinia Etruscan Necropolis Walk
Lazio
The Necropoli di Tarquinia (UNESCO) contains the world's most important collection of Etruscan painted tombs — over 6,000 chambers cut into the tufa plateau, of which dozens still preserve vivid frescoes of banquets, hunting, music and the afterlife from 700-200 BC. The walk between tomb entrances crosses an empty plateau above the Tyrrhenian.
