Su Gologone
Sardinia
This spring emerges from a network of flooded caves beneath Monte Corrasi, its flow rate varying dramatically with the seasons and occasionally surging after heavy rain in a phenomenon locals call 'brramadura'. Divers have explored the submerged cave system to depths of over a hundred metres without finding its end, making it one of the least understood karst systems in Sardinia. A small pool and shaded picnic area sit right at the source, with the water staying cold even in August.
