Strada Reale della Valsesia

The Strada Reale was built in the 18th century to connect the Savoy court to the Alagna Walser settlements at the head of the Valsesia. Today it is a quiet gravel lane passing stone fountains, wayside chapels and terraced vineyards with Monte Rosa growing larger with every step.
