Strada dell'Assietta

The Strada dell'Assietta runs along the watershed crest from Colle delle Finestre to Sestriere on gravel laid for the army, past the 1747 battlefield and a string of ruined barracks. Walkers, cyclists and (on set days) cars share a route with unbroken views to Monviso, the Rocciamelone and the French peaks.
