Spiaggia di Paraggi
Liguria
Paraggi's compact half-moon of pale sand sits in a gap between wooded headlands on the drive from Santa Margherita Ligure to Portofino, its shallow, current-sheltered water taking on a strikingly turquoise colour on sunny days. Most of the cove is given over to exclusive beach clubs, but a narrow free public strip remains at one end. Pine-covered slopes of the Portofino promontory rise steeply on both sides, part of the wider marine protected area.
