Spiaggia di Sabaudia
Lazio
This beach runs for several kilometres along the Tyrrhenian coast within Circeo National Park, backed by dune systems and Mediterranean scrub that have largely escaped the development common elsewhere on the Lazio coast. Loggerhead turtles have occasionally nested on quieter stretches in recent years, part of a slow recovery along Italy's coastline. Monte Circeo's promontory anchors the view to the south.
