This unassuming stretch of coast is where two magnificent Greek bronze statues, now housed in Reggio Calabria's archaeological museum, were discovered by a snorkeler just offshore in 1972. The beach itself is a long, quiet sweep of grey-gold sand backed by low dunes and citrus groves, far removed from the busier Tyrrhenian resorts. Sea turtles occasionally nest along undeveloped sections in summer.
