Fontane Bianche south of Siracusa is the finest sandy beach on the south-east Sicilian coast — wide white sand, shallow warm Ionian water and gentle waves. The beach is backed by a small holiday village but the main beach is long enough to find space. Siracusa with its Greek theatre and Ortygia island is 12 km north. Dogs welcome year-round on the northern section.
