Cala Domestica near Buggerru in Sulcis is one of the most unusual beaches in Sardinia — a fjord-like inlet formed by an old mining valley, with emerald water between 30 m limestone cliffs. The Buggerru mines (silver, lead, zinc) operated until 1971 and the valley retains mine infrastructure. The beach is accessible by a short path. Dogs welcome. The second cove (Cala Sa Stiddiosa) is 10 minutes' walk.
