Sila — Camigliatello Silano
Calabria
Camigliatello Silano sits at 1,272 m on the Sila plateau, the largest mountain plateau in Italy (1,500 km²). The forest around it is Calabrian black pine (Pinus laricio) — the subspecies endemic to this massif and the Etna area. Wolf packs are well established; in June the forest edge meadows produce one of southern Italy's most intense firefly displays. The plateau feels genuinely remote despite being reachable by road.
