Sentiero Rilke, Duino
Friuli-Venezia Giulia
The Sentiero Rilke above Duino follows the limestone cliff above the Adriatic — the path where Rainer Maria Rilke heard a voice in the wind that opened with 'Who, if I cried out, would hear me among the Angelic Orders?' — the first line of the Duino Elegies (1912). The Castello di Duino is at one end. The Trieste Karst coastline is spectacular. Dogs on leash.
