Via Romea Germanica — Arezzo Stage

The Via Romea Germanica is the medieval road used by pilgrims and merchants crossing the Alps into Italy from Germany. The section from Bologna south over the Apennines to Arezzo passes through medieval fortified villages, Romanesque churches and mountain passes with views of both the Po plain and Tuscany. A forgotten pilgrim road being rediscovered.
