Parco delle Dolomiti d'Ampezzo – Fanes Trail

This nature park around Cortina protects the approach to the Fanes-Sennes-Braies massif, a landscape of pale rock terraces said in Ladin legend to hide the lost kingdom of the marmot-people. The trail climbs through larch woods and past small karst springs, with marmots whistling from the surrounding pastures in summer.
