Sentiero degli Alpini, Monte Toraggio

Liguria

Built by the Alpini in the 1930s, this trail traverses the sheer south faces of Monte Pietravecchia and Monte Toraggio on a narrow ledge blasted from the cliff, passing through a rock tunnel, with rare alpine flora clinging to the walls and the sea far below. Airy and serious, but not technical.
