Scala di San Giorgio, Osini
Sardinia
Legend says St George opened this cleft in the "Tacco" with a blow; in fact the road threads a narrow natural passage between sheer walls of pale dolomite, with the old village of Osini Vecchio (abandoned after a 1951 landslide) just below and Maria Lai's land-art nearby. Short paths climb onto the plateau.
