Savona — Fortezza del Priamar

The Fortezza del Priamar was built by Genoa in the 1540s partly to punish and control a rebellious Savona, its walls raised directly over the ruins of the town's original medieval centre. The grounds give a view over the modern harbour, with flat streets linking the fortress to the rest of Savona.
