The dark, rounded stones that give this beach its name (sassi neri, 'black stones') stand out sharply against the white limestone cliffs of the surrounding Conero coastline. A steep path from Sirolo winds down through pine and scrub to reach the shore, opening onto clear water good for snorkeling around the rocky points. The contrast of black stones, white cliffs, and turquoise sea makes it one of the coast's more photogenic corners.
