Built on a rounded dome of pink Alzo granite, the white church of the Madonna del Sasso hangs over the western shore of Lake Orta with a belvedere terrace that takes in the whole lake, the island of San Giulio and the snows of Monte Rosa. A short lane leads up from the car park.
