The Santuario della Madonna della Montagna at Polsi (1,000 m) is the most venerated sanctuary in Calabria, reached through the deepest beech and pine forest of the Aspromonte. The forest approach on foot from San Luca is the authentic pilgrimage route, unchanged for centuries. The August festival draws thousands.
