Santuario di Macereto, Visso

The octagonal domed sanctuary of Macereto rises from an empty grassland shelf at 1,000 m above Visso, built in the early 1500s on a transhumance route. Cattle and horses graze around it and easy tracks lead off across the plateau toward the Monti di Cambio and the Nera valley.
