Sacro Bosco di Bomarzo (Parco dei Mostri)

Commissioned by Vicino Orsini in the 1550s and rediscovered in the 20th century, the "Sacro Bosco" scatters colossal carved figures — an ogre's mouth, a war elephant, a dragon, Hercules tearing a giant — through a shady wood of oak and moss along a stream, ending at a small domed temple.
