Miramare — Riviera Triestina Walk

The Castello di Miramare (1856–1860) was built by Archduke Maximilian of Austria (later Emperor of Mexico) on a limestone promontory above the Gulf of Trieste. The English garden merges into Mediterranean coast. Miramare Marine Reserve has excellent snorkeling. The coastal walk north from the castle to Trieste is 6 km along the historic Napoleonkajak coastal road. Dogs allowed on leash in the park.
