Riserva di Vendicari

Sicily

The Oasi di Vendicari on Sicily's south-east coast is a lagoon complex and beach reserve where flamingos, spoonbills and glossy ibis gather year-round. The coastal path passes the dramatic ruin of the Swabian tower and the abandoned Tonnara di Vendicari before reaching wild white-sand beaches. One of the most important birding sites in the Mediterranean.
